Fun and frolics to be had with the HSLife download collection. |
Well, still available for download is everything that was on offer in the last version of HSLife. Take a look at the list here (old stylee).
So what's new,
pussycat?
Just apps this month.
Visit www.mirc.com to download mIrc - a handy (if rather complicated device) that lets you make your own chat rooms (kinda). Log onto 'random Quakenet servers' and visit #cof-hs if you want.
Next - StealthDisk. It hides sections of your hard drive so the stuff in there can only be seen by you with a password - otherwise it won't show up on Explorer or in a find dialog.
Finally this month, Icon Extractor - this goes through your PC and finds all your icons so you can choose from them all, rather than just the Windows ones.
The video of Faster, Harder, Scooter - yay! It's 12 megs big, but it's free
Here
it is. If you haven't got a super-connection then you'll want to save it first -
right click the link and choose 'Save Target As...'
The rather natty ICQ - it's a bit like Yahoo! or Microsoft Messenger - but much, much better - basically it's a real-time communication thingy. Go and get it. DJ Ess's ICQ number is 101380922.
Next, if you ever play online games, you want Gamespy. It keeps all your favorite servers in memory and also knows the names of your on-line buddies, flagging a server if you have a mate playing on it so you can join them. Get it here.
If you are bored with the standard Windows calculator, try fun calculator. It makes amusing noises each time you press a button. The orgasm one is very amusing. Get it here.
Finally, here is CDEx, a nice little util that rips CD tracks from audio CD's to .wav or .mp3's, and can also convert .wav's to /mp3's (or vice versa). It's good. Use it.
This is Digital Enhancer - it sorts out crappy digicam pictures and makes them look much better. It's here.
