Bloody Roar III

Finally, the sequel to the best fighting game ever is out on the Play Station 2

DJ Ess is the Bloody Roar 2 British Champion. That's how much he likes Bloody Roar. Nase_2K was in the finals with him (It was close - DJ Ess). That's how much he likes Bloody Roar. Fitchy and X-Files both got into the quarters. That's how much they like Bloody Roar. Getting the idea? We really, really like it.

Stun has forgotten his parachute...

As you'd expect for a PlayStation2 game, it's beautiful. The characters are huge and move superbly round the ring, the walls buckle (but still can't be broken in the match) and the backgrounds are fantastic. It sounds good (except for the fact that the announcer guy who sounded hard and sinister in BRII now sounds gay) with nice clangs and smacks and stuff. Some of the levels are great, long and thin or tiny until you use another character to smash through the floor.

Rabbit Pie! Rabbit Pie!

But, but, BUT... It's not as fast as Bloody Roar 2. They've taken some of the moves out ("Ah-ha, to perfect opportunity to use Longs rising kick. Okay, down, down, kick... NOTHING! Argh! Help! Ouch" - DJ Ess) and only added one new character, Xion. Okay, so they've brought back Uriko and Bakaryu from Bloody Roar, but there's only one new new one. But then it's still an update to the best fighting game ever, and it's still great.

But it's not as good as Bloody Roar II, and that's a shame.

Xion, the one new character.
