Aliens

Hi. I'm DJ Ess, and I know more about the Aliens series than you do. I do. I love everything there is to know about aliens, I have all the books, scripts, films, comics… Still don't believe me? How about if I told you that I knew the entire script and cast list to the Aliens film off by heart? Know all the first names of the Marines? Already know what Alien 5 and Alien Vs Predator are going to be about? Could tell you what sort of medication Billie is on? Quite frankly, I know more than you. So if you are interested, take a read.

This, on the right and below, is an adult drone alien. Aliens come in four essential forms, a warrior, a drone, a face-hugger and a queen. Let's stick to this guy for now. He's big, about seven feet tall, has no eyes or visible form of respiration. He's got two arms, but only four fingers on each hand. Out of his back jut four dorsal horns. He has a tail, which is equipped with a stinger on the end that anaesthetises (puts to sleep) any creature it hits. It is also used for balance. He's got legs, and can run on two legs, or on all fours. With his sharp claws and suckers on his hands and feet, he has no trouble climbing vertical walls or hanging on a ceiling. In his mouth he has lots of teeth, and a rigid tongue with more teeth on the end, which can piston  out with enough force to smash a skull. If you manage to cut through the very thick and strong silicone based skin he has, his blood, which is pumped around at high pressure, is likely to squirt out and cause some damage, as it is part hydrofluoric acid, part hydrochloric acid. Although I call him 'he', aliens are asexual and don't have a sex as such, although drones are capable of laying eggs. Drone aliens don't kill anything unless they are severely provoked, they'd rather grab you and drag you away to be impregnated. Bummer.

To the left here is an adult warrior alien. The most noticeable visible difference between this and the adult drone is the top of the head. The warrior is smooth, while the drone has ridges. Also unlike the drone, the warrior exists primarily to kill things. Some are kept in the hive to protect the queen, but most are sent out to destroy threats. They are about the same size as drone aliens, but much, much faster. No aliens have eyes as such, but, like all aliens, they can 'see' general objects through echolocation (like dolphins and bats. It's why they hiss so much) and can detect pheromones of living things, which gives them a pretty much complete 360 degree field of vision and x-ray characteristics. If you see one of these up close, then you are probably about to die. The only 'remorse' they show is if you have been impregnated by a face-hugger and are carrying another alien.

Here we have a face-hugger. These little buggers scuttle about on eight legs, each carrying an embryo of a warrior or drone alien. Their soul purpose is to embed this embryo somewhere it can hatch. It does this by getting on to someone's (or something's, anything bigger than a cat will suffice) face, wrapping its long tail around their necks to make them open their mouths, and then jamming its ovipositor (long, slimy tube) down into them. It will stay stuck firmly to it's victims face until it has deposited it's egg, which normally takes about four-six hours. During this time it feeds the victim oxygen, and can keep someone alive in a vacuum though this process.  Once this is done it will die. It also has acid for blood, and can run pretty quickly for such a small creature, and has phenomenal strength. It hatches from an egg, which can be laid by the queen or drone alien. Once the embryo has grown, feeding off it's victims (or hosts) nutrients from within it's blood stream, it will hatch out from their chests, ramming it's way through their rib cage and inevitably killing them in the process. Nasty little guy, huh?

The queen alien is the biggest, most powerful type of alien that exists. She is born in the same way as a drone alien, but, as yet, no-one knows how it is decided which embryo is going to turn out to be a queen. The queen is massive, over thirteen meters long if you count her tail. She has a head with a big crown, two long arms and two smaller ones. Queens normally run on their hind legs, and spend most of their lives laying eggs. They can communicate with other aliens telepathically, and are very intelligent, often more so than above average humans. Like all aliens, she has acid for blood, and can survive in space if necessary.
