12 Go To Hunstanton

Read about the time when the HSLife members descended on a small, quiet village in Norfolk to watch the Radio1 roadshow.
Nase_2K types in black.
DJ Ess types in red. Okay?

One afternoon some members of HSLife arranged to meet in Upper Dean, at the Three Compasses, from there they would make their way to Hunstanton (Also known as Sunny Hunny Stanton).  Well that was what they were led to believe.  It was previously arranged that we would meet with Skippah just outside of Hunstanton that night and we would then go into Hunstanton the next day, to enjoy the Radio one roadshow.
That's right, and although Skippah was only expecting three of us, Bio, Fitchy, Tart With A Heart, Little Miss Funky, Bexta, Belle, X-Files, Jim T. Man, Short Arse, Nase_2K and I all sat in the Compasses drinking beer and arguing about which way was North.
Well the original plan was going fine, we made our way in 3 cars and DJ Ess had the map (Stupid idea - Nase_2K), (Actually, Bio had the map). It was all going fine, we were even playing a type of "Laser-Quasar" game down dual carriageway's (Bio vs. X-Files, each in separate cars), and we made good time down to 'Stanton.  Then the trouble started.  We turned off the main road to make our way towards Skippah's, the rest of us were led to believe that it was not far, but we seemed to be going for a long time (A very long time - TWH). You can shut up woman, you can't even drive!* Look, all Bio and I did were to follow the directions Skippah gave us. They were a bit dodgy to say the least. Basically, to cut a long story short, we turned around a few times and realised that we were actually on the correct road in the first place. Finally we found the place were Skippah was supposed to be, we parked the cars on the patch of grass, well, it was actually somebody's back garden and we were getting very strange looks as you can imagine. Ignoring them, we made our way to the closest pub to meet Skippah, but he was not there, so in true High SpiritS style we all gave up and had a drink and in the end Skippah did actually turn up. Anyway the drinking went on in Skippah's caravan for the rest of the night. Don't forget the bit where Short Arse went to turn her car around.
"Mind the bloody great hole!" Skippah said as she walked out of the caravan.
What did she do? Reversed straight into the damned thing.
A few made tents, some stayed in the caravan and Tart With A Heart and I slept in Big Red.

After a surprisingly comfortable night we made our way to 'Stanton with Skippah (so that makes 12 of us). Again we went in three cars and when we got to Stanton we basically all split to find a parking place (free of course), DJ Ess and I went to our normal parking place, as we both have been there many times before. We all met up at the top of the green in Stanton, were there was a field of people, facing a truck trailer, waiting expectantly for the roadshow to commence.

The roadshow was good (
But not as good as last years), we saw Hepburn, DJ Jean and then to mine and DJ Ess's dismay it was 911 and man did they go on and on and on...
The roadshow was brought to life by Chris Moyles, who made the show what it was, and it was great.  Anyway that was the roadshow, but that was not the end of our trip.  We made our way to the rides of 'Stanton.  This is where DJ Ess looked a little ill on a couple of the rides.
Did I hell. It was just that one whirly thing where they managed to cram Fitchy and I into a little box and squeeze the door shut. I nearly dislocated my knee. Then we went across the caravan park to one of our favorite rides, the electric go-karts. You put a pound into these things and you get three laps of a little track. So we all split into teams of three and had relay races, and my team (LMF, X-Files and I) won each time! Result!
The day was a winner and we all decided to head back to Skippah's place to pack our stuff and head off home. We all had a great time and we all would like to thank Chris Moyles and Radio One for another great roadshow especially when it got to Sunny Hunny.
